DAY1 Refreshed the following morning, we dipped our wheels in the Atlantic and we were off...

The first morning was an utterly soggy one. We cycled across the hilltop from Oban down to Taynuilt and then down the banks of Loch Awe for dinner and rest from the rain at the Kilmartin Hotel.

After lunch the skies cleared and we cycled the beautiful Crinan ship canal down to Lochgilphead.

After a long morning of hills we dropped down into Dunoon for lunch. After lunch another ferry from Hunters Quay across Holy Loch to Greenock on the mainland. Then after battling a Greenock sink-estate and the 17th legion we arrived in Paisley for the night.

DAY3 the central valley from Paisley via Glasgow and the Clyde to Edinburgh. Still a lot of hills for a valley!

After a dry Saturday we had to put up with a very wet Sunday morning.

But the sun came out in the afternoon as we approached Edinburgh, giving the joys of cycling the towpath of the Union canal.

Finally wetting our wheels once again in the North Sea in Leith old harbour.

A total distance of just over 200 miles in 3 days - well done chaps!
