Weston Super Mare to Southend on Sea
Coast-2-Coast cycle ride 13/07/2018 to 15/07/2018

Day 0: Thursday 12-07-2018

Eight of us set out for Pontins Sand Bay near Weston Super Mare to start the 2018 Kingstrust C2C. What a blast from the past this relic of the 1950s was with its concrete chalets. We loved it. Tomorrow seven of us will cycle 240 miles across the south of England to Southend on Sea, One of us will drive the support van.

Day 1: Friday 13-07-2018

Leaving out our unofficial start is from Sand bay and then we cycle to our official start at Weston. That night we stop in Salisbury.

Day 2: Saturday 14-07-2018

Leaving Salisbury we cycle across the beautiful countryside of the south of England to end up in Dorking Surrey. Here we are crossing the river Test.

Day 3: Sunday 15-07-2018

Leaving Dorking early in the morning we cycle through the Surrey hills to Epsom and from there through London cycling down the banks of the Thames past the Houses of Parliament and the Tower of London and then out through the East End into rural Essex and on to finish in the late evening in Southend. It was one of the hottest days on record with temperatures in London reaching 35°C!
